    1. The Impact of the Real-Time Economy on Business Innovation and Sustainability by  Dr.Suvit Maesincee , Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

    2. The Frontier and Challenges of Real-Time Business in ASEAN+9

Defining the real-time economy

The term “Real-Time Economy” is more about the on-going shift towards an economy model in which business processes and value chains are entirely digitized and connected. Real-time covers all aspects of business and society, from product development and go-to-market to HR, decision making and customer service. From a technology perspective we’re talking about fast data, artificial intelligence and the algorithm economy, big data analytics, the cloud, mobility (with mobile being the driver of the real-time consumer) and more.

The impact of the real-time economy on business

This real-time economy has a major impact of the whole organization and its ecosystem, requiring a connected and holistic approach. Internal and external processes involving employees, customers and partners get interconnected in a much tighter way. Ultimately, the borders between internal and external might even disappear in this integrated approach.

Real-Time Economy (RTE) is key part of the on-going shift towards an economy model in which business processes and value chains are entirely digitized and connected. RTE is understood as an environment where financial and administrative transactions connecting citizens, business and public sector entities are in structured standardized digital form and are increasingly generated automatically, as well as are completed increasingly in real time without store-and-forward processes.

Typical RTE applications include e.g. e-Receipt, e-Invoicing, Real Time Payments, e-Procurement, Real Time e-Salary, e-Address, e-Id, e-Signing, Automated accounting, Real Time Assets, Real Time Income Register, Automated reporting, Automated finance and risk evaluation processes, Comprehensive asset reporting, and Real Time Taxation.
